Hydrospeed or riverboarding, is a sport which consists of positioning yourself on a foam board and propelling and steering yourself forwards with the use of fins on your feet. Throw canyoning into the mix, and you've got yourself one action-packed day in the water! The day starts with the hydrospeed, 8kms downstream, after which you'll continue the route by canyoning, combining mountaineering and potholing techniques. You'll be running down wet slabs of rock, making big jumps into pools of water, scrambling up rocks and swimming through rapids. Hydrospeed and canyoning are usually done in areas of extraordinary natural beauty and provide a unique and challenging experience. Highly recommended.
Experience Content
You’ll start the day with a session on how to use the board and then it’s straight into the water. You’ll be in the water constantly with two instructors by your side; one on a hydrospeed and another in a kayak. After a well-earned break when you can regain your strengths, you’ll embark on the canyoning part of the day, where you’ll be accompanied by guides who are specialists in mountaineering and climbing.

Duration
Full day, ending at 7pm approximately. Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.
What to Wear / Equipment
You’ll need to bring a swimsuit, towel and a spare set of shoes and clothing. You’ll also need some suitable sports shoes for the canyoning. The rest of the equipment (wetsuit, helmet, fins, etc.) will be provided by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
For safety reasons, spectators will not be permitted to access the canyoning area. However, there are various spots along the river where spectators are welcome to watch everyone in action.
Weather
The experience will only be affected in extreme weather conditions or flooding, in which case the centre will provide alternative dates.
Availability
Available from March to October, every day of the week.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18 years.
All participants must know how to swim.
Please contact the centre, prior to making the booking, if you are exceptionally tall or overweight. Or if you have any medical conditions/disabilities, which may affect your ability to partake in the activities.
